1. About these Terms

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website aeicorp.org and any subdomains (the “Website”). The Website is operated by the Africa Energy Investment Corporation (“AEICORP”, “we”, “us”, “our”), an intergovernmental development financial institution established by the member countries of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization (APPO) and headquartered in the Republic of Benin.

2. Acceptance

By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

3. Purpose of the Website

The Website provides information about AEICORP, our mandate, our activities, our publications, our events and our career opportunities. The Website is for information purposes only. It is not a channel through which we conduct financial transactions.

You may access and view the Website, download content for personal, internal business or non-commercial research use, and share content by reference to its URL or with attribution to AEICORP. Any other use requires our prior written permission.

7. No advice, no offer, no commitment

Nothing on the Website constitutes investment, legal, tax, financial or any other professional advice. Nothing on the Website constitutes an offer, invitation or solicitation to subscribe for, purchase or otherwise acquire any security, financial instrument or other financial product. Nothing on the Website constitutes a commitment, term sheet, mandate or other undertaking of AEICORP. All transactions are governed by separate documentation duly executed in accordance with our internal governance.

Statements about future events, pipelines, planned investments, intended geographies or expected outcomes are forward-looking and subject to risks and changes in circumstances. They are not commitments and should not be relied upon as such. You should seek independent professional advice before taking any action based on Website content.

8. User submissions

Where you submit information through the Website, including through career application forms, partner inquiry forms or contact forms, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to provide it. You grant us a royalty-free licence to use the information for the purpose for which it was provided and for related institutional purposes.

Submitting information does not create any obligation on us to respond or to take any further action.

Nothing in these Terms constitutes a waiver, express or implied, of the privileges and immunities of AEICORP, its officials, its archives, its premises or its communications under its constitutive instruments, the Headquarters Agreement with the Republic of Benin, or international law.

15. Governing principles and disputes

These Terms are governed by the constitutive instruments of AEICORP and by general principles of international law. We and you will seek to resolve any dispute by good faith discussion in the first instance. Any dispute that cannot be resolved in this way will be referred to binding arbitration under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, before a sole arbitrator, in a neutral seat to be agreed.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is the version published on the Website with the effective date shown above. Continued use of the Website after publication of an updated version constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Languages

These Terms are published in English and in French. Both versions are authentic. In the event of inconsistency, the English version prevails, except where you are accessing the Website from a francophone jurisdiction, in which case the French version prevails.
